1.
Acts as staff support to the Local Emergency Planning
Committee (LEPC).
2.
Assists LEPC members in developing and periodically updating
the Borough Hazards Analysis, Capability Assessment, and Emergency Operations
Plan.
3.
Receives and processes requests for public information
regarding hazardous and extremely hazardous materials
4.
Attends State Emergency Response Commissions and LEPC
Association meetings on behalf of the borough.
5.
Submits quarterly LEPC reports to Alaska Division of
Emergency Services. Reports regularly, in writing and orally, to Mayor and
Assembly.
6.
Reviews and responds to correspondence, regulations, land
entitlements, permit applications, as pertinent to borough authority,
accountability and process.
7.
Monitors required environmental reports, permits, and
regulated activities within the borough.
8.
Keeps current with regulations affecting the land use and
subsistence activities within the borough
9.
Travels as requested by the Mayor or Planning Director and
required by grant agreements
10.
Other duties as assigned.
